BDR - Yeah, I noticed that after the fact. What impeccable taste you have, sir! I kinda wish I could repost this clip somehow more emphatically after those pathetic histrionics the Swiss pulled in the match with Chile. I've seen better acting on Sesame Street.
Maxall - I won't be easily convinced by anyone who thinks posting someone's private number is "devious" & "hilarious" as opposed to sophomoric & mean-spirited, nor do I think there's much to misread in "I'd rather say, 'Give war a chance.'" Also, the salacious video for "Born Free" merely reiterates the logic of the Abu Ghraib world (no "post-" necessary) and rather dully at that, as opposed to "turning it on its head" as this writer claims. Funny how he thinks Hirschberg is simplistic & reductive, whereas M.I.A.'s "lies equals power equals politics" neatly sums up the ontology of mainstream media.
If M.I.A. makes for a "challenging subject" in the world of music journalism, I'm gonna need a lobotomy to feel appropriately excited.
